August so far

Looks like I have to do everything myself. There’s all this donk money going untaken while you guys are running bad and breaking even :)

First official day back at $50nl:

Biggest hand: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2986593 vs 20/16/2.2 this was scary because I thought there was a good chance he flatted aces preflop. It was nice to win the flip.

Trouble spots

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2986787 vs unknown, puke

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2986797 vs 48/11/3.5, the call/lead line tells me nothing and just builds the pot, I don’t think calling and checking the turn is a good line because of the amount of draws. I think I should have 3-bet the flop to $18. I think I’m missing a whole concept here.

Poker Nerding

I looked at Harrington on Cash Games Vol 2 today at B&N and it looks like a really great book. They didn’t have Vol 1, but I’d really like to get a hold of them. I’m not going to buy them yet though because I’m in the middle of a non-poker book that I would like to finish.

I also wanted to check out King Yao’s book, but unfortunately it wasn’t there. I don’t know how they’d take to me ordering a book just so I can look through it in their store. From the reviews I’ve read, it’s a book on Limit poker odds, so it’s probably not worth purchasing for me.

PS, Ed Miller has some good stuff, and last week’s PokerCast with Ray Zee is amazing (Amarillo Slim was the 70s’ Moneymaker)
